3 EASY STEPS TO DETOXING YOUR SKIN

When you think of detoxing, it probably brings to mind starvation, headaches and general misery as the result of a juice cleanse, but a skin detox is much more pleasant — and just as important.  

Most detoxes are geared towards removing toxic substances from your internal organs, including the liver, but they ignore your skin.

As your largest organ, your skin is exposed to countless toxins in everything from lotions to shampoos to makeup and more. That’s why when my clients go through my detox program, I also have them detox their skin.

There are three easy steps to detoxing your skin:

1. SWEAT

When you sweat your pores open, allowing toxins, dirt and other impurities to be eliminated. Sweating will improve your skin quality, so get active or hit a steam room and get your sweat on.

2. TAKE AN EPSOM SALT BATH

Add 1 cup of epsom salt to a hot bath and soak for a minimum of 10 minutes. Your skin will absorb nutrients from the salt and release toxins (and you get at least 10 minutes to just relax). You can add lavender oil for a pleasing aroma, too. Try doing this bath 1-2 times a week.

3. REDUCE OR ELIMINATE USE OF TOXIC PRODUCTS
